Inherent Risk Questions (IRQ)

Updated over a week ago

Inherent Risk Questions (IRQ) are a specialized question type available in Panorays questionnaires, designed for both internal and external assessments. IRQs allow you to map responses to Business Impact and Relationships, helping you better understand and quantify inherent risk based on how a question is answered.

🔍How to enable an IRQ question

You can convert an existing question into an IRQ directly from the Questionnaire Editor:

  1. Locate the question you want to convert

  2. Toggle the IRQ switch to On

  3. For each answer option, use the dropdown menus to assign:

    • Business Impact (Minimal, Minor, Moderate, Significant, Severe)

    • Relationship

💡Note: At least one answer option must include a Business Impact or Relationship selection for the question to be saved as an IRQ.

Key features of IRQ questions

  • Map specific responses to defined Business Impact and supplier relationships

  • Gain deeper insight into how individual answers affect overall risk.

⚙️Additional settings

IRQ questions support the same advanced settings as standard questions, including:

  • Question scoring

  • Additional information fields

  • Question weight

Compatibility

  • Supported in internal and external questionnaires

  • SIG questions cannot be converted to IRQs

Supported question types

IRQ questions are supported for the following question types:

  • Single-select

  • Yes / No

How Business Impact and Relationships are calculated

Business Impact

  • Available categories: Minimal, Minor, Moderate, Significant, Severe

  • Business Impact is updated only if the response increases the risk level

  • If the selected response decreases or maintains the current level, the questionnaire summary will recommend aligning to the new Business Impact

  • When multiple IRQ questions are used, the highest-risk response determines the final Business Impact

Relationships

  • If a response includes a Relationship that is not currently associated with the supplier, it will be automatically added to the supplier’s relationship list
