Findings

The Findings page provides a complete view of all open security findings identified by Panorays as part of an external cyber posture assessment. Findings are generated based on your company’s or your suppliers’ exposed digital footprint and highlight potential security risks.

Actions you can take on findings

When reviewing your company’s findings, you can take the following actions directly from the Findings Panel:

⚠️ Claim as Fixed vs. Dispute — which should you use?

Use Claim as Fixed only if you have actually remediated the issue. This triggers an automatic reassessment — if the underlying problem is still detected, the finding will be automatically reopened.

Use Dispute Finding if the finding doesn't apply to your company (e.g. the asset is out of scope, or the finding is a false positive). A dispute is reviewed by the Panorays analyst team — it does not trigger an automatic reassessment.

Claim a finding as fixed

Use this option if the issue has already been remediated.

How it works:

  1. Go to My Company → Findings

  2. Locate the relevant finding (search or filter if needed)

    1. In the side panel, select Claim as fixed

  3. A targeted reassessment for that test is triggered automatically

If approved, the results will be updated in your account and visible to your customers.

⚠️ Important: If the reassessment detects that the issue is still present, the finding will be automatically reopened and its status will return to open. This does not indicate an error — it means the fix was not confirmed by the assessment. In this case, complete the remediation and claim as fixed again, or switch to Dispute Finding if you believe the finding is incorrect.

Dispute a finding

If a finding is incorrect, irrelevant, or no longer applicable, you can submit a dispute:

  • In the side panel, select Dispute Finding

  • Provide a short explanation

The request is reviewed by the Panorays Cyber Posture Analyst team.

If rejected, the reason will be visible when hovering over the status icon.

Dispute an asset

If a finding is tied to an incorrect or irrelevant asset, you can Dispute Asset directly from the finding.

Tracking disputes

At any time, you can filter findings by dispute status to track:

  • Open disputes

  • Approved claims

  • Rejected claims

Why this matters

Panorays makes it easy to represent your security posture accurately. By reviewing, disputing, and remediating findings directly in the platform, you can ensure that your public security profile reflects the most up-to-date and relevant information.
