Segments

The Segments feature allows you to assess a specific subset of a company’s assets, enabling a more focused and accurate risk and cyber posture rating. Segments are especially useful when a supplier manages multiple domains, environments, or business units that should be evaluated separately.

Each segment has its own dedicated page, similar to a supplier page, displaying segment-specific insights and data.

πŸ” How It Works

A segment represents a defined group of domains or subdomains that belong to a parent company. Each segment receives its own assessment and risk rating, while still maintaining a relationship to the parent supplier.

⚠️ Important:

A segment can only be created after the parent company’s Cyber Posture Rating is completed.

βž• Creating a Segment

There are two ways to create a segment:

Option 1: From the Suppliers Page

Go to the Suppliers page and Select Create Segment

Option 2: From a Specific Supplier

Open the supplier’s page and click on the Segment icon on the right

✏️ Required Information

To create a segment, you must provide:

  • Segment Name: Name must be unique (cannot match the parent company name).

  • At least one domain or subdomain

πŸ’‘ You can select:

  • Domains

  • Subdomains (click the arrow next to a domain to expand available subdomains)

βœ… Finalizing Creation

Once the Segment has a name and assets are selected, choose one of the following options:

  • Create – Saves the segment and returns you to the previous page.

  • Create & Edit – Saves the segment and opens the Edit Segment page.

⏳ Segment creation may take up to 10 minutes.

πŸ“ Where Can You See Segments?

Created segments appear in the Suppliers Table and the Supplier Page.

In the Supplier Table, each segment is displayed as a separate line item.

In the Supplier page, it can be found in the Segments section:

πŸ’‘ Additional Notes

  • There is no limit to the number of segments you can create using the same assets (names must be unique).

  • Segments do not trigger an immediate assessment.

    • The assessment runs during the next scheduled scan.

  • Segments inherit the assessment type of the parent company.

  • Only Segments

  • Segments and Parent Companies
